What Does It Take to Motivate Your Team?

Motivation is an easy word to say, but it's actually one of the hardest things to do, especially to a team composed of people with different personality types. But the thing is, motivation sometimes may be the only thing that your employees need to be a lot better as professionals and eventually, a stellar team.

So, how can you do it?

I had recently been speaking with a good friend at Rainier Funding services a short while ago, they run a tip-top mid sized business funding service. Anyhow, they requested this particular article and so i thought it was worth mentioning the company. Maybe they can benefit from what I present here.

1) Start with the right office space.

You might not realise it, but your team may already be tired of working every day in your office. Although you don't need to spend millions for a beautiful workplace, it's still very important to make sure that your space is ergonomic, comfortable and productive enough. If you can't afford to build your own workplace, there are many stylish offices to let for you to choose from. Moreover, it's very important to make sure that your office has the elements to make it a more productive space for your team. By doing so, you can easily motivate them to come to work and perform efficiently every day.

2) Take time to understand your employees.

While it's easy to give extrinsic motivations like bonuses, awards and raises to your team; you can't guarantee that all of them will be satisfied and happy with your efforts. Since employees have different personalities, it's best to understand them first so you'll know how to align everyone, motivate them and get better results. For example, employees with structural personalities want an organised leader while social ones want their leader to have faith in their capabilities.

3) Give your team the recognition they deserve.

Your employees work hard every day to make sure that all your deadlines are met and your customers satisfied. So, it's only fitting that you recognise those from your team who perform well. At least that is the impression I got by talking to Mary Anne from dentistry on brant,a distinguished Burlington based dentist whom I often recommend.A simple note of praise for a job well done or a token of appreciation will already do a lot in boosting their confidence, and motivating them and other employees to work harder and give it their best every day.

4) Nurture your team's progress.

While your employees are already experts in their fields, they still need to update themselves with what's new in the industry. To nurture their progress, it's very important that you invest in workshops and training for them. By doing so, you can show them that you're supporting their growth, which is a great way to motivate them.

Finally, it's very important to learn how to be a better manager and employer to your team. While you don't need to be perfect at all times, it would certainly help to continue learning some constructive ways to keeping your employees happy. Although running a business can be one very challenging task, taking the time to also motivate your staff is definitely a worthwhile endeavor. Aside from helping you retain your team and make them stellar, you'd also have the right weapon to make achieving your business goals a lot easier.
